Installer Mode
Installer mode allows the Sierra S5832 to be tested easily and completely by a single technician.
As the technician faults each zone, it is displayed at the keypad along with a single keypad chime. Entry/Exit
delays can be tested as well as the communication and alarm siren functions of the panel.
Walk test events can be viewed and transmitted to the central station.
END-USER BENEFITS
Up to 60 User Codes
The Sierra S5832 can support up to 60 four-digit user codes; more than most panels in this class.
Maid Code
The Sierra S5832 supports up to eight Maid Codes- one code per partitioned area.
The Maid Code allows access only during specified days or user defined time.
One-Button Setting Options
The end-user has a choice of several options for setting the system with the press of a single button.
Home Arming/Instant Home Setting
Gives flexibility by automatically isolating pre-programmed zones, allowing the system to be set while the user
remains inside.
Partitioning
The Sierra S5832 supports up to 8 partitions, with or without one common area. Each alphanumeric partition can
accommodate up to max. 32 zones and up to max. 16 keypads. With the common area, you can choose one
keypad to control all
partitions. The sirens and digital communicator are shared by all partitions and each partition can be operated
independently. One or more partitions can be set or unset without changing the status of the other partitions.
Quick Exit
With the system in the home set state, a user can press the “quick exit” button and leave the premises.
The system will automatically reset in the home set state at the completion of the exit delay.
Pager Protocol
The Sierra S5832 allows any report sent by the digital communicator to also go to a standard numeric pager.
This feature is ideal for both private response units (signalling an on-site security guard) or for homeowners who
wish to monitor their own user’s “openings and closings”.
Supervision
Phone-line cut detection and bell supervision provide constant monitoring of critical panel annunciation and
reporting functions.
SYSTEM SAFEGUARDS & FALSE ALARM REDUCTION
Learn Mode
This feature gives the end-user up to 31 days of learning time during which alarms are indicated on the keypad but
not sounded or reported.
Double Knock Zoning
This feature requires one or more of the system’s set burglary zones to trip twice within a 30-second time period
before the system signals an alarm condition. This prevents false alarms caused by sudden environmental changes
or small animal movement.
Cross Zoning
For higher security applications such as vaults, computer rooms, or sensitive storage areas, all zones in the cross
zoning list must have been tripped before the system signals an alarm condition.
Swinger Shutdown
This option is used to limit the number of alarms which will be reported during a set period.
This to prevent runaway false alarms caused by environmental changes or a malfunction device.
Entry Delay Times
Two different entry delay times can be programmed for separate entrances where a user may need more time to
unset the system.
Extended Exit Delay
After setting the system, the user can re-enter the exit door up to 4 times during the exit delay with the exit delay
starting over each time. This prevents false alarms caused by users who
re-enter the building.
Exit Fail Reports
Exit fail reports are sent to the central station when a user triggers the
alarm by failing to properly exit the premises during the exit delay time.
This prevents dispatching emergency responses to a false alarm.
Validator
®
Audio Verification
C & K’s Validator system allows you to verify a real alarm by providing
two-way listen-in and talk back communication with the central station.
